Tim Harper of Thorncliffe Building Supplies got in touch with North Wales Biomass as his company stocks a large amount of biomass fuel which needs to be dried before sale. Knowing the financial benefits of a RHI eligible wood chip heating system, he came to us for consultation. Pleased with the solution we put forward, Tim commissioned us for the job, and we quickly got to work with the planning and preparation.

As the customer wanted to make use of the RHI scheme, it required boilers that have previously been registered to the scheme. So, through our network in the industry, we sourced a pair of 1 megawatt Binder Boilers in a factory in Bridgend. They had been installed and registered on the RHI scheme, also for the purpose of drying, so they were perfect for the job.

North Wales Biomass sent our team of professionals to decommission and palletise the system, and arranged transport of the boilers to their new home at Thorncliffe’s Mold site. There, they were re-installed and attached to two purpose built suspended steel drying floors. Thorncliffe Building Supplies now have all of their drying needs taken care of and are seeing the benefits of biomass heating and the RHI scheme.
